HexEditor Terms of Service
Effective date: October 30, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and deluxapp for HexEditor for macOS. By downloading, installing or using HexEditor, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. Licence
HexEditor is licensed, not sold. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on Macs that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store terms. Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/
You may not redistribute, resell, sublicense or rent the app, or use it to build a competing product. You may not reverse engineer or decompile it except where applicable law expressly permits this.
2. Free and premium features
Some features are free, and some require a purchase. The current split is shown in the app and on the App Store page. Prices, currencies, available payment methods and free-trial eligibility are shown by the App Store at the time of purchase; we do not process payments ourselves.
3. Subscriptions, trials and lifetime purchase
- Monthly and yearly subscriptions renew automatically through your Apple Account unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- If the App Store displays a free trial (for example, a first month free), it is available only to eligible new subscribers, once per Apple Account and subscription group. When the trial ends, the subscription renews at the price shown by the App Store unless you cancel before then.
- Lifetime Unlock is a one-time, non-consumable purchase. It does not renew. Buying Lifetime does not cancel an existing subscription; cancel that subscription separately in the App Store.
- You can manage or cancel a subscription in your App Store account settings. Deleting HexEditor does not cancel a subscription.
4. Refunds
Purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests are handled by Apple under its policies; we cannot issue App Store refunds ourselves.
5. Your files and your responsibility
- You must have the right to open, inspect and modify any file or disk image you use with HexEditor.
- Editing bytes, replacing data, writing firmware, and saving changes to disk images or files can destroy data. Make a backup before you write. Parsing is not a guarantee that a file is valid or safe.
- You are responsible for the changes you make and for verifying the result before relying on it.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use HexEditor to break the law, infringe the rights of others, bypass technical protection measures without authorisation, or distribute malware. You are responsible for the files and data you process with the app.
7. Privacy
HexEditor is designed not to collect your data. The Privacy Policy explains what is stored locally and how App Store purchases work: https://deluxapp.com/hexeditor/privacy/
8. No warranty
To the maximum extent permitted by law, HexEditor is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that every file, file system, disk image or template will parse correctly, or that no data will be lost.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, deluxapp is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits or business, arising from the use of or inability to use HexEditor. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by applicable law.
10. Changes and termination
We may update these terms by publishing a new effective date on this page. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms. We may suspend or end access if these terms are materially breached. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
